Growing up on the Danish coast shaped Tamasine in ways she is still discovering. The water, the shifting light, the weathered textures. The balance between rough and smooth, darkness and light, stillness and movement. Those landscapes continue to influence the way she sees and creates.
Her work draws from both Scandinavian and Japanese aesthetics, united by a shared appreciation for quiet beauty, natural materials, and craftsmanship. It is an approach that values authenticity over perfection, finding meaning in simplicity, texture, and the marks left by time.
Art has always been part of her life. In Denmark, collecting art is often a slow and thoughtful process, with pieces chosen for how they make a space feel rather than how they impress. That philosophy continues to shape her practice. She creates work that is intended to become part of a home—pieces that bring a sense of calm, invite reflection, and quietly reveal themselves over time.
Inspiration comes from many places: a walk by the sea, changing foliage, something she has read, or a personal experience. Yet nature is the constant thread running through her work. The muted colours, textures, and atmosphere of the Danish coastline remain a lasting source of inspiration, continuing to shape both her practice and her perspective.
