We had the privilege of visiting Julia & Tim at the French Château des Forges in the hills of Auvergne. What a beautiful place steeped in history and soul. Nestled among green hills, the château breathes life into every stone, every arch, every wrought-iron detail. It’s been undergoing loving restoration for some time now, and the care and attention to detail are impossible to miss.
We stayed in the guesthouse, a separate but intimately connected space renovated with such heart: vintage tiles, soft textures, warm lighting, and old wooden beams meaningfully preserved. Every corner felt curated, capturing that romantic feeling of living at the French countryside. Our mornings started with sunshine spilling through the windows, as you can see on my pictures.
Julia & Tim are bringing this amazing property back to life with reverence and passion. They’ve preserved the old soul of the château, while creating spaces that you feel immediately at home.
